(Toronto – November 29, 2018) Steve Whitelaw, CSIO Chairman and Vice President, IT Planning, Execution & Operational Effectiveness at Travelers Canada, is pleased to announce the appointment of two new members to the CSIO Board of Directors:
Cam Loeppky, Senior Vice President & Chief Information Officer at Wawanesa Insurance, rejoins the Board of Directors, previously sitting as a director from 2014 to 2015. He has been with Wawanesa since 2006, and has 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. Loeppky is a strategic and innovative executive, experienced in implementing and improving IT strategies that enhance the business operations of diverse stakeholders. Loeppky takes over for Syd Church, Vice President, Strategic Initiatives at Wawanesa.
“The environment of innovation and collaboration fostered at CSIO has been essential to many advances in the broker channel,” says Loeppky. “I welcome this opportunity to re-join the Board of Directors and support industry efforts to build on the momentum we have achieved.”
Dennis Dalmas, Vice President, Business Solutions Delivery at Aviva Canada, brings over 15 years of experience in digital business transformation projects involving complex development and technical integration. He joined Aviva in 2016, where he leads the Shared Services, APIs and Data teams and also sits on the Innovation Committee. Dalmas joins the CSIO Board in place of Deborah Smith, Vice President Business Solutions Delivery at Aviva Canada. Smith has announced her plans to retire from the insurance industry after a distinguished career spanning over 30 years.
“I’m excited to join CSIO and advocate for the adoption of CSIO standards throughout the industry,” says Dalmas. “We fully support the recent strides made in commercial lines and real-time transactions, and look forward to continuing that progress going forward.”
“On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to thank both Deborah and Syd for their dedication not just to CSIO but to the industry at large,” says Whitelaw. “Their efforts and expertise have been invaluable, and they will be missed. Looking to the future, I welcome Dennis’ and Cam’s contributions to advancing key technology priorities for the industry. They bring a great deal of knowledge and experience to the table as well as a deep understanding of the roles that standards and technology play in strengthening the broker channel. We are fortunate to work with industry leaders of their calibre as we continue to advance our mandate in 2019.”
