CSIO Celebrates Accomplishments, Plans for Future at 2015 Annual Meeting
|
(Toronto – May 15, 2015) The Centre for Study of Insurance Operations (CSIO) was pleased to formally announce its new three-year strategic roadmap to over 100 attendees at its 2015 Annual Meeting & Reception on May 14th at the National Club in Toronto.
“This ambitious roadmap is the product of a highly collaborative process that involved significant input from our members,” says Steve Whitelaw, Chairman of the CSIO Board of Directors and Vice President, Strategic Planning and Execution at Travelers Canada. “At its core is our new mission: to improve the consumer’s ease of doing business within the broker distribution channel. This customer focus ensures that each initiative we undertake delivers exceptional value to every member of our industry and strengthens their competitive position.”
“It is only fitting to have made our strategic plan’s first public acknowledgement at our Annual Meeting and Reception,” adds Catherine Smola, President and CEO of CSIO. “Our mandate belongs to the broker, insurer and vendor members both gathered here today and across Canada, and we are optimistic about what CSIO will accomplish with their support.”
Emphasizing the importance of a proactive, forward-thinking outlook was keynote speaker Douglas Porter, Chief Economist and Managing Director of BMO Financial Group. His Technology, Innovation and the Canadian Economy address provided valuable insight into economic trends that the broker channel can expect to encounter in the years ahead.
CSIO also welcomed a new member to its Board of Directors, John Belyea, COO at Moore-McLean Insurance Group Limited. “John’s expertise in comprehensive business improvement projects, e-commerce and strategic planning will be a tremendous asset to CSIO in the coming years,” adds Whitelaw.
“We celebrate our past success, especially the 19 insurers and vendors who achieved CSIO Certification for eDocs,” says Smola. “Moving forward, we are committed to identifying, developing and providing even more industry tools and resources. Our members can expect significant new developments and opportunities in the next few years.”
