Canada Post Union Announces Strike on Monday, October 22

|

(Toronto – October 17, 2018) The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) has announced that postal workers could walk off the job as early as Monday October 22. If an agreement can’t be reached, postal workers will begin rotating strikes starting 12:01am Monday morning. Despite over ten months of negotiations, the two sides could not agree on remaining key demands.

As a result, mail service may be interrupted indefinitely. Brokers need to immediately prepare their office and staff to minimize disruption and inconvenience to customers. CSIO has created a tip sheet for brokerages to assist with strike disruptions.

Protect your customers and your business

Brokers can protect their customers from disruption by adopting an eDelivery solution to send digital policy documents and proof of auto liability insurance to their customers securely and without delay during the strike. CSIO’s My Proof of Insurance eDelivery solution allows brokers to quickly and securely send documents without incurring any additional costs.

CSIO has scheduled a demonstration of its eDelivery solution on Friday, October 19 at 1PM Eastern. This 1-hour webinar will show participants the My Proof of Insurance platform, and how to get started sending eSlips in minutes.

Benefits of My Proof of Insurance include:

  • BMS integration means you can send documents and eSlips from within your BMS
  • eSlips can be securely stored and accessed on your customers’ digital wallets
  • My Proof of Insurance is available free of charge to CSIO members

“The industry should be ready to offer digital alternatives to their clients,” says Catherine Smola, President and CEO of CSIO. “Asking clients to take time from their schedule to pick up paper documents and pink slips is not an ideal customer experience. Our industry has an opportunity to adopt digital tools and options that customers will appreciate.”
