CSIO Offers New Cybersecurity eLearning Program
|
2018 has been a tumultuous year for security and cyber breaches. Data leaks pose a serious risk to organizations of all sizes, in all industries and locations. Hotel chain Marriot International recently faced what is thought to be one of the largest security breaches in history – their breach impacted 500,000,000 people internationally.
When a data breach like this occurs, hackers are stealing confidential information from you or your customers such as credit card or bank account details, personally identifiable information (PII), personal health information (PHI), or intellectual property. Hackers can then use this information to hold your computer hostage, steal your identity or sell your information.
CSIO’s Cybersecurity eLearning Program
The insurance industry is not immune to these cyber threats. The first step in safeguarding your business is ensuring your employees are trained to identify risks. According to a recent article in Canadian Underwriter, many small business owners don’t take the time to educate staff about basic cybersecurity.
In order to keep you protected, CSIO has created a Cybersecurity eLearning program. Made up of three modules, this program educates you on common risks and how you can avoid being targeted.
The modules include:
- Kevin Mitnick Security Awareness: Learn about the threat landscape from Kevin Mitnick, a former hacker, now a highly regarded security consultant.
- Mobile Device Security: Mobile devices hold an incredible amount of personal and confidential data. Learn safe practices for using cellphones and other devices that could be a potential source of data leakage.
- Risks of Social Media Sharing: Understand how your employees’ social media usage can present security problems – for your business and your customers.
This program is free to CSIO members and provides you and your staff with essential cybersecurity eLearning to protect your business against cybercrime. The modules include situational examples to bring the lessons into a real world application.
Key features:
- Convenient: Start, pause, and resume training on your schedule .
- Comprehensive: Topics covered include: spam, phishing, spear phishing, malware, ransomware, social engineering, mobile device security and social media sharing risks.
- Accredited: Submitted for CE hours in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Ontario
