(Toronto – April 16, 2025) On April 16, CSIO hosted its 2025 Members’ Meeting and Reception at One King West Hotel in Toronto. This annual event celebrated the previous year’s achievements and featured a keynote presentation on Artificial Intelligence (AI).

2024 Highlights

The Members’ Meeting and Reception began with opening remarks by Michael Lin, CSIO’s Chair of the Board and Chief Information Officer at Travelers Canada, who stated that “2024 was a pivotal year for CSIO, as we moved from laying the groundwork of our multi-year strategic plan to evolving Data Standards and services.”

Following Michael Lin, CSIO’s Interim President, Kathryn Sinclair, took to the stage to highlight CSIO’s accomplishments from 2024 and express gratitude for members, saying: “Together, we evolved Data Standards and enhanced our trusted services for a more advanced and connected P&C industry. Your dedication has been essential in driving excellence for our members and their customers.”

During their remarks, Mr. Lin and Ms. Sinclair recognized the efforts of the following CSIO Working Groups and Committees to advance Data Standards and support over 30 member certifications last year:

  • The Commercial Lines (CL) Working Group for publishing CL Data Standards for five additional industry segments
  • The eDocs Implementation Steering Committee for driving increased adoption of the updated eDocs Standards
  • The National Standards Working Group for making progress in Z-Code elimination
  • The INNOTECH Advisory Committee and its API Working Groups for successfully developing JSON API Data Standards and updating CSIO’s API Security Standards

In addition to Data Standards, Mr. Lin and Ms. Sinclair discussed how CSIO evolved our trusted solutions that members rely on: CSIOnet and My Proof of Insurance (MPOI). Ms. Sinclair acknowledged that CSIO’s 2024 Member Survey revealed a 99% and 96% satisfaction rate for CSIOnet and MPOI respectively.

Finally, Ms. Sinclair provided key highlights on CSIO’s Professional Development Program, including the launch of 15 webinars and courses as well as our Cybersecurity Education Program. She shared that “This program, together with our webinars and courses, led to over 5,000 hours of content enjoyed by CSIO members.”
