(Toronto – March 5, 2025) Gore Mutual Insurance Company (Gore Mutual) achieved CSIO’s API Security Standards Certification by successfully adopting CSIO’s Application Programming Interface (API) Security Standards. With this certification, Gore Mutual builds on their commitment to CSIO Standards and dedication to continually improving broker operations.

The API Security Standards were developed by CSIO’s INNOTECH Advisory Committee and its API Security Standards Working Group. This talented team of industry experts ensures the most up-to-date security best practices are reflected in the Standards by updating them annually.

Software vendors and insurers who follow the industry authentication and authorization guidelines set out in the API Security Standards allow broker partners to experience a more seamless authentication and authorization process. Brokers can rest assured that any customer information exchanged via an API endpoint between their Broker Management System (BMS) and Gore Mutual’s systems is protected by leading security measures.

“CSIO’s API Security Standards Certification serves to further strengthen the trust we have built with our broker partners and customers as it demonstrates that keeping their personal data safe is a priority,” said James Warburton, Chief Information Officer at Gore Mutual, and CSIO Board Member. “Aligning our security practices with the evolving standards is imperative as we continue to innovate and optimize data exchange.”

Insurer and Vendor members heighten their protective measures by implementing the latest API Security Standards, available for download from the CSIO website.
