Several months ago, CSIO launched a project to modernize the CSIOnet network and move it from a legacy physical server platform, to a modern, robust infrastructure – the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud-based environment.  Working closely with insurers, vendors and brokers, we successfully migrated the platform over the September 10th weekend.   

Moving CSIOnet to the AWS cloud-based environment has set the industry up for continued success, by meeting the evolving needs of insurance customers in a digital age, while simultaneously providing added security and stability for all users.

There are many new benefits of moving CSIOnet to the cloud, but the way brokers, insurers and vendors interact with CSIOnet remains the same. All users will have the same capabilities and reliable performance they’re used to. The continued real-time connection enables instant transactions which supports the digitization of insurance operations. 

Improved Speed and Agility

The speed at which insurers can send EDI and eDoc messages has increased significantly; as has the ability for brokers to download these messages, resulting in enhanced customer experiences. The seamless, real-time exchange of data also saves users both time and money. That means less time waiting for information – and more time with customers.

Enhanced Security Measures

Moving to the cloud environment through AWS provides peace of mind to all CSIOnet users. This more robust, state-of-the-art system provides CSIO with faster, proactive problem detection and resolution.

It is more efficient and secure than our legacy system. The new functionality of CSIOnet also means that content shared across the platform is better protected. The cloud-based environment comes with added security measures that reduce risk, and detect and address threats such as cybersecurity breaches to mitigate the risk of data loss.

In the background, CSIO will also have greater capabilities around key metrics, which means an increased ability to continuously improve CSIOnet with data-driven enhancements.

Scalability

Moving CSIOnet to the cloud enables quicker responses during peak demand periods and allows CSIO to respond appropriately when performance and storage capabilities need to increase. 

In terms of this project, scalability benefits also include the ability to improve and innovate as new technology evolves, setting the industry up for continued success.
