The Covid-19 pandemic may be the defining event of this generation, broadly impacting the world economy as well as global physical and mental health. According to Aviva’s recent Covid-19 Consumer Behaviours Insights Study, 2020 also has seen significant shifts in the behaviour of Canadian insurance customers compared to previous years.

CSIO is pleased to announce that The Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company has obtained CSIO Certification for Commercial Lines (CL) eDocs. This certification program enables insurers and vendors to verify their implementation of eDocs according to CSIO Standards, ensuring the seamless exchange of eDocs between insurers and brokers.

Since the launch of the CSIO Commercial Lines Working Group in 2018, the industry has seen a series of advances in CL Data Standards, including recently finalizing a standard set of questions for underwriting small retail business submissions. With recent articles in Canadian Underwriter and BC Broker Magazine, the industry is taking note of the many benefits CL Data Standards provide to insurers and brokers in order to help them deliver superior customer service.

CSIO is pleased to congratulate the first cohort of CSIO Digital Brokers. These 32 CSIO members demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning, innovation and digital best practices. The new CSIO Digital Broker certification recognizes brokers who have completed six CSIO eLearning courses.

CSIO is pleased to announce that its Board of Directors have green-lighted three digital solutions proposed by the INNOTECH Advisory Committee and Working Groups. During the September 15 meeting, the Board of Directors were presented with three business cases for proposed solutions that were collaboratively researched by Committee and Working Group members.
