Canada Post negotiations at an impasse

NOVEMBER 20 UPDATE: The union presented offers to Canada Post management on Saturday, November 17, but has not yet received a response. In the meantime, rotating strike action continues in:

  • Kelowna and Prince George (BC)
  • Chatham, Scarborough: Markham Delivery Centre (31 Brodie), Richmond Hill Main and West Beaver Creek facilities, St. Thomas, and Woodstock (ON)

The rotating strike action will impact the insurance industry by interrupting mail delivery of policy documents and auto insurance liability cards to insureds.

The strike has caused immediate and widespread disruption to businesses and consumers, including the insurance industry and its insureds.

All mail operations in affected areas will come to a stop – including the delivery of insurance documents to consumers. Brokers have an opportunity to protect your consumers from this type of disruption by signing up for CSIO’s My Proof of Insurance eDelivery solution. This solution allows you to send digital policy documents and auto liability cards which can be stored on the insured’s mobile device.

My Proof of Insurance is available to CSIO members at no additional cost, featuring a fast setup process and integrations with many BMS vendors.
